Hey guys,

I am wondering what type of tires i could put on my Tahoe.
I want All-Terrains on there/ krawlers or Grappers, that dont make too much noise, i want it to have a bold look.

You are not going to find any kind of aggressive tread tire that is not noisey. I am running Cooper AT2's. Great grip and nice ride on the hardball.

I swear by BFG All Terrain's.

+1 I had them on my '93 4Runner and loved them. Quiet, capable, long wearing. I will likely put them on the Yukon when the current tires wear out.

unknown at this time.
I am planing on Goodyear duratracs which reviews from tire rack say are excellent in noise levels. Their wranglers mt/r's are more noisier and have a drop in the user rating over it. then are somewhat aggressive tho.

I've had both bfg all terrains and mud terrains loved them both. I can say they are tough as hell one of my bfg all terrains had six nails in it I noticed when I changed to MUDD terrains and it never once leaked. They get great mileage I currently have 20k miles on the km2 and they still have 85-90% life, my all terrains did not last as long but that was due to rougher driving and not rotating frequently. All terrains were not as load really not that loud at all. But my personal preference is the km2. And they look great I love the slick side wall ring with white lettering.

I have the Duratracks; outstanding tire. This tire is the most aggressive "All Terrain" tire I've seen. It's closer to a mud tire really than it is to a typical all terrain.

Pros:
Quiet. Only the tiniest bit louder than a street tire. Quieter than some all terrains I've had. Considering the tread, amazingly quiet.
Traction. Hands down the best tire I've driven in many situations. Not as good as a mud tire in the mud, obviously. But it's the next best thing. Outstanding in snow, sand and ice. Just look at the tread, it's obvious how much better it will be off-road than typical All Terrain tires.
Looks. Very aggressive looks, looks close to a mud tire.
Sidewalls. Even the E rated tires have a very soft sidewall. This allows the tire to grip better when aired down. It also softens the ride if you have very stiff shocks.
Tread wear. Excellent so far.

Cons:
Sidewalls and tread are soft. If you haven't driven a rig with open tread, you're in for a shock. Deep, open tread is "squirmy" and will reduce steering feel and precision. Combined with the soft sidewall, the tire delivers a vague steering feel. When i first got the tires, they actually scared me on the freeway. Once the tread wears a little bit, I think the heat hardens the rubber just a bit. Still vague steering, but not scary. Maybe I just got better at driving with these tires? My guess is that 20" tires may improve steering feel. ( i have 16" wheels.) This is just a guess of mine.
Cost: Price the 20" tires. Wow!

In short, the best tires for off road use that are still good tires for daily use. (My rig is a daily driver.) But if you never go off road, you're giving up steering feel and precision for aggressive looks. The best tires in the snow I've driven, by a large margin.

Just my experience and opinion.

+1 for BFGs. I have the A/Ts. Love them, not loud, great on and off road and wear really good. Can't speak for the KM2s, but the original BFG M/Ts were outstanding as well.
