I would probably get the same if I had one of those belt drive intake manifolds too.My last tank, after the new trans....8 mpg. All city though.
Oh lol , I’m blind . My eyes wereI removed the piece from the glass- the first 2 pics show it off the glass. There’s 3 screws and the bottom edge is held with high bond tape.
I used a DA starting with 220 to remove the texture but in hindsight I would have just hand sanded it, the texture comes off easy. I went to 400 then 600 hand sanding. Then adhesion promoter, the base from automotivetouchup.com, then U-Pol #1 clear. My buddy that owns a body shop thinks I might not have got good coverage on the base over the black plastic which might be causing it to be too dark so he said to scuff the clear, reapply base and then I’m shooting it with some 2k clear I ordered from automotivetouchup if it ever ships along with more base.
I'm not gonna "Like" this! Some people are just assholes. Maybe touch up that spot with primer, then paint and try to wet sand then buff. You do good work Mark--bet no one would notice it but you--only cuz you know it's there.I was on @blurred ’s build thread and saw where he had someone scrape against his Hoe and not leave a note, which made me remember the same thing happened to me at work a few months ago. I don’t think I ever even took a pic of it or posted anything, I wanted to not think about it. But here it is. It actually has a small dent and it’s scraped all the way into the base coat. I think I’ll pull the tail light and see if I can massage it from the inside and then buff it to make it look a bit better. Sucks.

No, I know my painting skills as far as trying to touch up a small area like that will definitely result in it being worse than it is, which would then transfer my anger towards myself for being stupid enough to think I could do that. I’ll try to massage it and buff but that’s as far as I’m going. Anything more and I’ll have my buddy do it.I'm not gonna "Like" this! Some people are just assholes.
