Wow... I’m so glad my door panels don’t have carpet on them... hahaha. I believe some 2005 trucks didn’t have carpeted door panels and every 2006 I’ve seen in person doesn’t have carpeted door panels. I wonder why GM decided to do away with the carpeted door panels...

Not sure why they did away with them. All I know is they were fine until I decided to strip the original carpet off and install the stuff I bought from Stock Interiors. I think part of the problem is the new carpet has a smooth vinyl back as opposed to the thin foam that the original had on it. I couldn’t strip that stuff off for the life of me, it was glued so good it only came off in small pieces and it was still in perfect shape. It just wasn’t the same as the carpet on the floor. Lesson learned.

Does the glue pull off the door skin or off the carpet backing? You may need to find a compatible glue that will bite i to that backing. Or, use something to prime it for adhesive.

A little of both. I’m thinking it’s the heat since it seems to fail after a stretch of hot weather. The 90 is supposed to be better in heat. Here’s the first carpet I installed, I cut new pieces this last time again.

I tried using the 90 and it failed miserably for me. Hopefully it works better for you.

Did you use the industrial grade? I was reading some reviews on the regular 90 and people were wondering if they changed the formula and reviews were down but the industrial grade was getting 4.5 star reviews still.

Thanks guys I now have plenty of options. I’m thinking of cancelling the 90 and getting either the Plio-bond or the 3M 1357.

It was old stock from work that was used for one job and then bound for the dumpster so I snagged it. We used plio bond a-lot for industrial gaskets. Use in a well ventilated area unless you like being high on glue!
