I had an EDC on my 05 Silvy and never liked it. I like having dual compressors so if something quits, you still have 1 going. Never fun with the EDC going out. I had a spare that I used, but it stunk swapping them on the highway
I would keep the dual electrics as a backup. I want faster and the new FLO pumps are a bit faster than the Viair’s were but not that fast. Being bodied, Im bringing it up quite a bit more than something that lays frame.

When you need to shop in the plumbing department when working on your truck. The new pressure switch was 1/2” NPT instead of 1/8”. And the drain valve didn’t want to work when I attempted to release the air and drain the tank which sucked because the solution was to unscrew the whole thing a bit and let 200 PSI escape through the threads.

I had the same issue with a pressure switch on the air ride I built for my motorcycle... took me a while to find the leak... glad you got it figured out.

I have noticed all my air pressure in the 7 gallon tank is gone every time it sits overnight or longer. It’s been happening for the last month or so so today I sprayed the back half of the plumbing with soapy water. I’m pretty sure I found the culprit so I ordered a new one today. Its the pressure switch. It’s leaking out where the wires attach. There’s no markings on it for on/ off pressure so I determined it turns off at least 200 since that’s where my gauge stops and I can get the bags up to that pressure. 200 seems to be the highest they go unless you go to an adjustable and I also don’t want to go higher than necessary or it wears out the pumps. So the one I ordered is a Viair 165/200. It turns the pumps on at 165 and off at 200.

buy a couple. they go bad quite often. i have bought new ones that were bad. i was buying from a cheaper company though. Viair maybe uses better quality. i think mine were 120on 150off. my '50 could be at full height when i parked it and when i woke up it would be layed out. i had a bag of pressure switches in the trunk, haha.

Since I have a 4 day weekend I figured I’d pull the headlight, open it up and replace the demon eye. But after a half hour of trying to remove the silicone from around the edges that I used to seal it up, I decided I would probably destroy the damn thing before actually getting it baked open, and probably never get it back together and sealed. The demon eye works for every color except green. New Depos are $200. I think I will just buy new headlights and paint in a few months and start over. Sometimes it’s better to know when something isn’t going to work so you stop before it’s too late. I’m gonna quit while I still have headlights so it doesn’t stay looking like this.

I found a left headlight on Ebay that was open box for $50 so I bought it and a right same thing but the pic looks like the lens is cloudy on one side but I think it's just the pic so I asked the seller for a better shot; I offered $40 for it. It says it's new also. Ordered the paint too. Screw waiting lol. And just to think I get to do all this over again.


The TRS stuff came in so I started on the retrofit. Holy crap it's a handful. I started on just one side for now , just to get my feet wet. First was modifying the lens to accept the projector. I had to open the hole up so it would fit through, then grind part of the mount out of the way so it would slide back all the way. Then the nut on the back wouldn't tighten far enough to install the hardware so I ground down the rear of where the bulb used to mount. Then of course there was the wire for the shutter so I drilled a hole for that. I installed the projector and mounted the bulb and shroud and I was so happy. Then I realized the demon eye needed to be mounted on the projector before it was mounted so I removed it all again and used my air grinder to enlarge the hole for the demon eye wires.

I mounted the projector and started hooking up the massive amount of wiring. I kind of got overwhelmed with all the wiring at this point. The instructions are for each different item, and I had to keep looking up one more set of instructions after another. It's a lot of wiring for a headlight. The main harness is actually for both and so is the RGB computer but still...

Sorry for the sideways and upside down pictures but this site does that to me and it's a hassle to fix so this time I'm not going to. I ended the day by hooking up the demon eye and downloading the ap to my phone, then attempted to color match the projector to the truck. I can get it pretty close. Also, I just messed around with it a bit. Kinda cool, and I definitely like the eyeball etching on the projector.

I should probably note that the reason I’m doing both is that I wasn’t happy with the clear coat on the paint I originally did so I was planning on opening them both up and re-clearing them as well as replacing the faulty demon eye. I bought some 2k clear coat from automotivetouchup.com that should look nice.

Today I made a harness to run an Esky cluster in it. Thanks to @fiatdale for the parts and pinout diagram. The truck side needed to have the wires soldered onto those tiny pins and heat shrink added and the Esky cluster side had pins that are crimped onto the wires, inserted into a plug, and slid into the connector. I had all the tools and have done similar projects on my Harleys. I used braided split loom and had just got some woven tape that I used for the ends; the same tape they use on OEM looms. I think it came out nice. Now I need to buy a cluster and have the mileage programmed in it.
