Today I made a harness to run an Esky cluster in it. Thanks to @fiatdale for the parts and pinout diagram. The truck side needed to have the wires soldered onto those tiny pins and heat shrink added and the Esky cluster side had pins that are crimped onto the wires, inserted into a plug, and slid into the connector. I had all the tools and have done similar projects on my Harleys. I used braided split loom and had just got some woven tape that I used for the ends; the same tape they use on OEM looms. I think it came out nice. Now I need to buy a cluster and have the mileage programmed in it.

So I've been planning on doing something with the interior pieces that the PO had covered in some ugly fake carbon fiber overlays. You can see it here in the first pic. I removed some of it today on part of the dash and one of the door switches. I bought some 3M wrap in brushed steel and attempted one of the switches. I'm not sure yet if this is what I'll end up with but I'm going to give it a shot. My first attempt didn't look good at all, and I found out maybe I need to YouTube this shit to find the tricks. Second attempt was better but I'll still probably peel it and do it a third time. After more practice, who knows- it might be ok lol.

Here's the dash piece that I removed the CF and cleaned. That stuff is a ***** to get off- it's held with high bond tape. The entire surface is covered in that stuff. Sorry for the pics being all rotated in different direction- I have no idea why they do that when uploading from my PC. Stupid Bill Gates Windows shit I guess.

Eew. The only way I'd ever do fake carbon fiber is if it at least looked 3D like the real stuff. What you had was the Autozone ricer section special.
I’ve had the real stuff, on a Harley Davidson V Rod. All the body panels were CF with ghost flames under the clear. So I know what it looks like and can’t do fake. The brushed stainless looks ok, if I can get it lay right. I’ll practice more.

Love bagged trucks. Looks clean man I just scrolled through most of it! I think I live within a hour or two of you. Maybe I’ll spot it at a local show sometime or something around Oregon! Keep up the good work!
