The Tech 2 has already paid for itself. It helped me to find 55 cents under the front passenger seat. Actually, it cleared the dtc's for my ABS and the dic message for that problem hasn't returned. But back to that spare change....I was trying to figure why my airbag light was on and the dtc's it came up with pointed to the passenger presence module. It lets the SIR system know if the passenger airbag should be turned on or not. I subscribed to alldatadiy and was reading that I needed to either zero the module or check the wiring to it so I tried to zero it. No communication, so I looked at the wiring and under the front passenger seat, I found a connector on the seat with nothing plugged in. I knew before that this truck doesn't have electric seats or airbags in the seats so I never thought to look for wiring problems at the seats in order to fix an airbag light. I pulled the seat and found the harness pinched under the carpet. It looks like somebody reinstalled the seat and when they bolted it down they pinched the harness under the carpet where they couldn't see it so they must have thought nothing went to that plug so they just left it. Anyway, the airbag light is off and I cleared the dtc's from history. I would have bet on it being a front impact sensor since that's a known problem. It didn't cost me anything to fix this, in fact it paid me 55 cents lol.

Love the truck and nice to see a build thread on it.

Duh. I feel so stupid. It was the TCM battery fuse missing. I'm not sure where I put that one....into an unused spot that now has a fuse lol. What an idiot.

:lol2:

Just doing some minor stuff today; the 1 1/8" plugs came in so I popped a couple in the parking assist sensor holes in the rear bumper so that looks way better. Then I pulled the front wheels to clean the insides of them and found the bottom shock bolt on the passenger side was really loose. I took a look at the driver side and found it had fallen off. The PO had paid a mechanic to replace them a week before I bought the truck and I guess he doesn't believe in tightening things. The truck had a rattle depending on what height it was and the dude had told me he just had the exhaust welded on and it started happening right after that so he thought I just needed to bend the pipe away from the frame. Which never made sense to me because the ride height shouldn't have made a difference. This was the problem.

Luckily no harm was done but I'd still call the shop and give them an ear full

Oh the PO is, believe me. I texted him the pic. He said he's never taking anything there again, and he's gonna call them and *****.

Last thing a shop needs is the owner of a badass build like this to put a shop on the ban list.
Oh you're mad at a shop and you drive a prius? Wont take you seriously.
You're mad at a shop and you drive a fully custom bagged vehicle? I'll value your opinion lol
