I have a 2012 ppv. I also have the entire history from mile 10 to mile 140,000. They changed rotors twice. Before I got it they were changed. All the cop stuff is great. They have a different vein set up in them to help cool faster. I send all my barrels out for cryo treatment, the next time I'm going to take my rotors up and have them frozen too. I'm going to keep the same routine the cops did to it when it comes to the brake job routine. When it's time it goes back to chevy so the can flush the brake system and put all new back in. O by the way. I know the dealership prices are always harsh but, if somethings wrong or doesn't quite feel right, take it back. My dealer always makes sure it leaves to my satisfaction. If not they make it right for free

We bought our 2007 suburban at 125k and are now up to 188k. I've already replaced the rotors all once and ow the fronts a 2nd time. The rears must be warped again too. Getting a lot of brakes pulsing. This time I choose not to install auto parts store chunk and got Delco rotors off Amazon.

I haven't tried hawk pads yet. What are the benefits of them. Can they help with rotor life? It seems like my rotors get warped before even wearing thru a set of pads.

Is it really worth it to spend 500 on cyro rotors? Also with the miles on our 07 would it be worth it to replace the calipers? After 4 years we still really enjoy the 07 and it still is great to drive with the exception of the brake pulsing
I bought my 08 Yukon XL with 40k still under warranty. I told the dealer it had a mild pulse but they wouldnt fix as they said was within tolerance. A couple of years later it was worse and they did all 4 corners new pads and rotors and that lasted about 18 mnths. Now was off warranty so took it to a local garage and they put some drilled slotted on the fronts and was good but lasted 1 mnth!! He redid the job for free and put Raybestos Pro Grade rotors and its still good 4 years later and still going!!

Thanks for the recommendations. I put R1 carbon slotted rotors and ceramic pads on the rear.

Earlier this year I did fronts with delcos. We will see how those hold up and replace them with slots too.

Key is to bed the brakes properly. I heated mine up until they smelled and drove around to let them cool off. Ive heard it melts the resins in the pads and gives them even contact with the rotors..I usually do this late at night so i vary my speed, get the brakes hot and then give myself time to roll and let them cool without stopping. I usually finish with a drive on the freeway to let them fully cool. A guy I know that has an Avalanche, drives like grandpa and murders pads and rotors. I know he doesn't bed his brakes and thats got to be the reason. He usually last about 2 years before something is worn out.

I have r1 geomets drilled/slotted with the gmt900 upgrade and SS lines. Only big difference is I have hydroboost. I have a lot more stopping power than stock so I don't have to ride the brakes to slow down. No pulsing brakes and I drive it pretty aggressive at times.
