i don't think you guys understand what i am saying. that piece of rubber, is the ONLY thing that connects your car to the road. it could be what helps you avoid a wreck, or go sliding head on into an 18 wheeler with no control and killing your whole family. tell me how important it was to save money on tires then.

tires are a very big deal. why not pay a little more for something that will last longer and perform way better. And lets say you pay 150 for a cheap tire that lasts 30k, and 300 for a tire that last 60k, your paying almost the same.

the nitto 420s are excellent tires. nitto tires are VERY well made and designed. it is a multi million dollar company. they do their research in producing tires. sure they're going to cost you more, but what better product isn't going to cost more?

like has been said before, there are other places to cheap out than tires.

i would never run a 295 35 24 anyways. totally impractical for daily using.

now if this was going on a vehicle that isn't driven very often, thats a whole another story. but i just didn't want this whole thread going on praising an awful tire that could put innocent people at risk.

sometimes i don't even know why i bother.

I'm with you Matt. I'm sure they'll ride great for $130 or whichever, but when it comes to hitting a bump hard and the sidewall cracks and you lose your tire and wheel... lesson learned.

I would invest in either better tires, or smaller wheels with a better tire to offset the budget.

Trust me, the last thing you want to do is run a cheap tire.

actually the cheapest tires i have ever bought lasted me the longest. and just because they are cheap doesnt mean their junk. how do you think nitto, falken, toyo and all these other small tire companies got started? they all start small and build their brand. most of these off brands are made from big name tire companies under a different name. not much into making a tire. just because it cheap, doesnt mean its bad. ive had $400 pirellis bubble a sidewall on me and damn near bust.

now when it comes to performance...then thats a different story. but lets face it...its a tahoe/yukon/escalade....not alot of performance going on there.

and like i said, i damn dear popped a $400 tire. sidewall height is the same on a chaep tire or expensive....if the road wants to bust it...its gonna bust...

I run my Nitto 420s in 295/35/24 daily and i love them..they ride better then my stocks suprisngly..I have prolly 40k on them and still tons of tread left, besides 2 of them, but that was a different story lol..but even those still have 2-3 summers left..I really am not looking foward to spending 1600+ for new tires though..When I bought my shit they were about half the price they are now..those tires might be decent if you are running them for a few months of the year, but I dont think I would run them every day

good better best rating is your answer?! lol

just because its a "good" tire, doesnt mean you shouldnt use it all year...lol

best tire just gives them a reason to sell you the tire at 500 a piece.

and like i said, it only really matters when it comes to performance. as far as every day driving, its not an issue. now if your towing alot and putting more weight on your tires on a consistant basis, you need to invest in tires capable of doing the job.....daily driver tires...these are fine.

another exaple....i bought $150 snow/ mud tires ofr our work truck....weve had them for 6 years now. have 30K on them, and theyve held up great on highway and off. no issues.

Lol at that Discount Tire good, better, and best chart.
I have an example. A lot of people complain that the Pirelli Scorpion tires )that run up to 30" rim sizes) have rubber compunds that are really soft. That leads to a very good riding tire that wears far quicker than other. It also leads to tires that have problem with splitting (as in the case of my brothers old Esky). Does that mean they are BS? No. Does that mean that they are worth the $1800 (plux local tax) price tag compared to $800 tires? You decide.
$1800 and can buy the aftermarket wheels on 95% of this forums members rides. So why would one want to spend that on tires just because they think everything that is not mainstream is ******?
I run the cheaper tires (still $700 a set though) on my wheels and have never had a problem. Perfect balance and everything. Balanced just as good as my brothers Pirellis and perform the same too. The only difference is his rode a bit better (but that could be due to Autoride and/or me being lower than him).
If I had 3 piece forged wheels then it would make sense because each wheel is around $1500 and there is no reason to save money on tires when $6k was just dropped on wheels.
My old wheel/tire hookup have Auto Couture 26s on his ride and decided to run cheaper tires after he blew threw two sets of Pirellis real quick. He is a wheel/tire distributor so he was not simply being cheap because he gets Pirellis for real cheap. He just decided that running Pirellis was just costing him more $$$ for almost equal performance.

I just got cheap tires put on my wheels, and if they hold up I wont be going back to name brands. A set of $700 dollar 26 inch tires ride better then my 20 inch Falkens that I paid $800 for from Discount Tire.

Glad to hear, which "cheap" tire did you get? Welcome to the cheap tire club! :drunk:
