Can't see it for $140 at amazon. Could the price have changed overnight?

Yes, lighting deals can end at any time. They're normally a few hours and limited quantities.

I put a lot of things in my Amazon wish list and get notified if any of them go on sale like that. Great for those things you want, but having trouble justifying lol

Is tech2 a brand name or a device name? Can it read cars other than GM?
My backup car 2006 Hyundai Sonata just won't start. My friend's scan tool can't communicate with the car.
Thank you.

The Tech2 is very versatile, it can read other cars as well, Ford and Chrysler, for OBD1 modules you need the connectors, but on OBD2 it will read all the Generic codes, therefore your Sonata should be no problem as its OBD2, It cannot however do bi tests on the non gm vehicles and it is obsolete in regards to later 2014 and up models.

I have been looking at the tech 2. Seems like there are alot of knock off ones and some reviews say they don't work as well. How do you know your getting an actual tech2?

Actually, everything you are looking is a Knockoff of varing Degrees, the proof is in the price, a real one costs around 4k with the Candi Module, (this allows the scan of canbus vehicles starting in 2003.) If you google shops like NTX warehouse and other tool warehouses you will see the true price. I am not sure how the knockoffs are getting around the Can bus though.

I do not believe these are knockoffs. I think the factory is selling them too. GM switched over to another software platform years ago and the factory is continuing to make and sell them for those of us with older cars. Post up a link of any you have questions about. Lots of guys on here have purchased them recently.
