Hi all,

I'm looking to purchase a used 07-09 Burban in the near future, but all the audio options and packages available are somewhat confusing to me. What I've read is that 07+ Tahoes and Suburbans had 3 audio options: base non-Bose, Bose non-deluxe, and Bose deluxe. Soooo..

Apologies in advance for the several questions ahead.

What are the differences between the Bose non-deluxe and the Bose deluxe, and how can I tell which one a used vehicle has by looking at it? Which of the systems come with a sub? Does having the nav screen mean that it has Bose deluxe? And finally, during 07-09 could the Bose deluxe be ordered on LT or LS trim, or is it exclusively on LTZ?

Thank you!

Base, premium bose and luxury bose are the three types. Both bose come with 6.5" subs under the center console. Nav is available on both bose systems, look for a center speaker in the middle of the dash, that means luxury
There are two different types of bose amps,
The premium Bose system amp has 3 plugs and is a "DUMB" amp. its a slave unit that does nothing more than amplify the signal. it does have a built in crossover that all the settings are set for. when the volume goes up past a certain point the amp turns power down to the sub to protect it . other than that the amp does nothing more. all your chimes , on-star, sensors, and whatnot are processed through your head unit. It has 9 speakers. Its option UQA

The luxury bose system amp has 4 plugs and is bigger, more powerful and is a smart amplifier . there is a bus data line that runs from the head unit to the amp. the amp does all the thinking and crossover points for the system. it takes care of all the chimes , sensors , blue tooth, on and on. so the amp is very important to the system. It has 10 speakers, the extra one is in a center channel speaker in the dash.
The luxery package came in all 07-14 Denalis, but was available only in 09-14 slt's or ltz's if they have rear seat entertainment option (rse) the 07-08's all had premium Bose regardless of rse or not.
option Y91

Thanks for the excellent reply. In that case looks like I need to get an 09+ Suburban LT/LTZ if I want the Luxury. How do premium and luxury compare in terms of sound quality? Is it worth getting the luxury?

Luxury blows premium away. I went from an 07 suburban to an 11 denali and it's a big difference in sound quality. Nicest stock system I've ever heard.
The Denalis been in the shop since Wednesday and they gave 2016 Silverado LT as a loaner, not sure what stereo it has but it sounds terrible compared to the denali

Sounds good, guess I'll save up for an 09+. Got the added benefit of the 6 speed as well, so it's a win-win.

I was bored one day and was wondering about upgrading the stock sub, stumbled across all that info and figured I'd share.
Also worth noting:
Escalades come standard with luxury and there is an upgraded version in the platinums, I can't remember what it's called at the moment.
