I've seem some kill plugs and tweak o2 sensors with seafoam. I did it once myself and regretted it...

You want to "clean" and lubricate the upper end I'd suggest looking into the 2 stroke oil in your gas. Cleans like no other & will keep the upper end lubricated helping smooth out idle, keep plugs clean, & constantly work on carbon buildup. Good for gas mileage increase as well.

It's waaaaay cheaper and waaaay better than any other gas additive or top end cleaner.

Have you done this yourself?

I guess I run seafoam in all my vehicles and my cousin ran some in a 2004 Chevy PU and did not have any problems but I just run it through the gas tank. Always seem to have more power and better mileage. Used it for the last 10 years. to let the system reset take the battery cable off for a minute or so and everything should reset.

I'm getting about 14.5 mpg highway, but the hoe's loaded down and we're running 70-75 mph the whole way. It seems to have leveled out.

I'm running a performance tune with 93 octane, and it's like riding a racehorse on a back trail. It feels like the truck just wants me to stomp the pedal and go.

On my way back I'll try the mileage tune and see if it makes a difference.

Yup...

On my stock 94 tbi I've been using it for 6 months...
350,*** on original engine...350 TBI...
Mileage went from 14 w/o it to 16-17 with it...no other changes...
My oil consumption dropped...likely due to how it affects piston rings...
My idle, which had been choppy for years is smooth & stable now...
I mix @ a 400:1 ratio...1 oz per 4 gallons (128oz/gallon). 500:1 is ok too...no thinner & no richer.

Started on the Tahoe when i got it. Mileage was @ 13 after 2 tanks...now is at 15.5-16.
No real other response on the Tahoe yet...still haven't driven it much.

After a few tanks of running the oil you'll stop seeing "improvements" since the big cleaning has already been done. With continuous use it will keep things cleaner longer...especially the plugs.

Ethanol in our fuels over time does gum things up...using this stuff reduces buildup. It's way cheaper and has a better blend of ingredients that anything off the shelf @ your local auto parts place.

I'm not trying to be a sales guy but I used to have to change the plugs on my 94 every 25k...they developed too much buildup on the electrodes. I pulled the plugs around a month ago (hit my 25k interval) and they had practically no buildup at all...I didn't bother changing them.

The stuff works...makes sense too when you know what's in it and how 2 stroke fuels burn.

Man, that 2 stroke oil idea is interesting. Seems legit. Might give this I try, from reading ALL 43 pages!!! It makes perfect sense.

Mileage was 17.4MPG on the same trip back. So all is well. I might have gotten some $hitty gas from Chevron too.

+1,
I say this because the ratio is such that you shouldn't do any damage to anything as long as you follow the right ratio. I too read all 43 pages and I would say 97-99% has at best seen better idle, slight increase in MPG and slight increase in throttle response. Might be worth a shot.
