Shifting problems from 1st to 2nd.

I have a 2003 GMC Yukon SLT
143k miles
5.3L

My ONLY problem with it right now is it FEELS like it takes forever when at a stop position for 1st gear to shift into 2nd gear. Usually has to get to 3-3500 rpms or I have to take my foot off the throttle for it to initiate the shift. around 10-15mph or so. Feels like a hard shift to. Only from 1st to 2nd. it's only when I am in town on slow rpm's. But when I hammer down she's fine and fast.

No error codes, engine lights, nothing.

Is this a potential tranny thing? Mechanic said he couldnt find anything.

Looking for input.

I am not going to say that this is normal, but it is common. If I am driving my tahoe like a grandpa, it sort of slams into second at like 2500. My silverado did that too and the trans made it all the way to 190000 with lots of towing and abuse before letting go.
