2 days ago I went to start up the Yukon and out of no where it would not start. I had to jump the battery to get it going. After letting it run for an hour I turned it off and same result. I jumped it agin and went to have the battery replaced. A brand hew battery was installed and when I got home I turned the car off and when I went to start it up, NOTHING!!!!! I had it towed to my GM mechanic and he sais that something is draining the battery when the car is off. The negative battery terminal he said was way hotter than it should be. The starter and alternator are fine. I do not have a aftermarket stereo or anything else that could be causing this. My LED light bar has a relay so I know thats not it. My mechanic is checking every possible cause but I wanted to know if anyone can shed some light on this. Thanks for your help and ideas I can send him would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

I had a similar problem and they replaced the negative battery cable. It was slightly higher resistance than spec.

if you know to use a multimeter start testing for high resistance start with the ground cable the one that goes to the block there also another that goes to the frame behind the front bumper when test the ground cables only touch the red probe to the top of the battery post dont touch any part of the neg batt terminal

I'm no mechanic but this has me scratching my head for sure. When I called my mechanic this morning and told him what people said on the forum that had the same symptoms, I, pretty sure I was an idiot and had no clue what the hell I was talking about. 3 hrs later he called me laughing and asked how he can be a member on the forum!!!!!
