Service airbag and steering wheel buttons

Hello everyone,

I just picked up a 2003 Yukon. It has the service airbag message. Also the bottom buttons on the steering wheel arent working. None of the buttons light up. After reading on here I was sure it was the clockspring. I just replaced it today and no change.

I don't know if it is related but I think my bcm has a problem. If I program a key fob it will work perfectly until I lock the door with the lock button on the driver door. Once I do that the fob stops working. I have to pull the fuse and reprogram the fob.

I have no input on the "service airbag message??" I have no plans on every messing around with those things. But the steering lights ... yeah with lots of miles ... most likely those going out is not uncommon?? Ours don't light up either. But ... for those lights here you go:

I may look into that later but the buttons arent functioning either.

I found a guy who had the scanner to check air bag codes, mine ended up being the seat position sensor on the drivers side (wires were pulled out of the connector). I know you are trying to connect the steering wheel buttons with this problem but it could be separate.

Good point.. I have just been assuming it is the airbag in the steering wheel giving me the problem.. I will go use a scanner that does airbag info and check..

LOL yeah that's a different issue! I have function but no lights.

as long as they work id leave um along they are a pain in the ass to change
