I got a set of 4 winter tires I will put on this fall without sensors . Do I have to look at orange light on dash all winter or is there some how I can shut tire sensor off for the winter ? I really do not want to try and get sensor on 16 inch steel rim with 10 ply tires.
Might be away around this that I don't know about.
I'm sure other have came cross this .
Any info be great ..

You could dismantle instrumwnt cluster and disconnect or cover up light. Otherwise, nothing else I can think of aside from installing sensors. They are pretty cheap and not terrible bad to have. Although I never calibrate mine so my light is always on lol

you can strap them to the center of the rim with a basic hose clamp of the proper size

just get a tire sensor simulator device

not sure why it has not been mentioned yet..

the other issue is you may have is the tire place refusing to install the tire to the rim without it

tell them it's except as they are required on MY2007 and higher only

Thank God I don't have tpms on my 03. Just curious tho--where to buy and how much? I hit the ebay link and it's not found there(the link).
Search EBay for tpms delete emulator they’re on the Canada EBay. Not sure why the link is broken. They’re about $100 shipped so in reality you can buy ACDelco sensors for not much more. Plus Im not sure if your insurance will deny any accident claims since they state they’re for off-road use only and they disable a federally mandated safety feature.

Tell me more you talking around the whole rim with a clamp .. or if there's ones the fit the steel 16x6.5 rim that be another way to go. I never had to deal with them sensors at all.
