I have seen this on forums I can't remember which one but it was on a NBS tahoe. The guy welded together plate to match his old tow hooks mounting location and used shackles I personally like that idea and it looks better IMO. Would this be a bad idea using a 2" reciever on each frame rail that is hidden behind a solid valence and sticks through to the shackles. It is a 12 long reciever that people weld to trailer and such it's is to be bolted to the factory tow hook bolts and then it will go forward with the opening semi hidden behind the valence and you slide the shackle receiver through the valence to the receiver hitches and put the pins in. Anyone have a better idea? It was just a random thought and it also may work with the 454SS valence so you can have two hooks/shackles and foglights. It has the versatility of put whatever 2" reciever you would like into it also. Any opinions?

Just a thought but I have pics of the materials I would use here's the receiver I believe it would be able to be drilled for the factory tow hook placement and still reach to the valence I can't measure as I don't have a valence on mine PO removed it.image.jpg

image.jpg It would be similar to this but there's probably a better design to do it on our trucks than I have thought of.
