Hello there.

I took it to the Dealer, They OK'd the Drive shaft, U-joints, etc...
I don't think they looked at the transfer case.

Anyway.. a bit more info...
The truck only does it when it has a load heavier than myself.
4 people
2 people plus heavy boxes
a trailer
etc..

This makes me think it is suspension related, but that all checked out too?

Next time you are cruising at a constant speed and you give it some throttle and it shudders, slightly press the brake pedal enough to make the brake lights turn on while holding speed and see if it goes away.

unknown at this time.
If only happening when loaded and your are getting clunking in first or second you could torque converter problems as the cause and should probably draw your attention to the slip yoke in the transfer case. The bump clunk issue they have had It has often be resolved by changing out the transfer case fluid for a new type but gm in 2001 had in development a new nickle plated slip yoke to solve the problem. If you like have the dealer inspect you current one to see if that where the problem alternately lies. The new ones sell for about $200 at dealers.

Sunlitcomet I wondered about the tires but b4 the u joint change the truck was as quiet as a mouse it started right after I had them changed no mounts are cracked as far as I can tell...I did notice the drive shaft looks like it had been put in a vice....Im wondering if I should just replace the rear shaft and go for there?

Seems transmission related...have the valve bodies checked...even the torque converter. Have a tranny shop hook up a computer to it and go for a length drive.

MAKE SURE you leave them a tank of gas!
