What's up guys,

In the next month or so I would like to shave the wiper off the hatch of my 08 tahoe. I am also thinking of shaving the handle off the hatch but do not know if the switch to open the hatch can be relocated or something. Has any one shaved their hatch? If so what did you do about the switch to pop open the hatch and what parts were needed to do this mod?

Any tips or help will be appreciated, Thanks guys.

I shaved everything out back on mine, I open the liftgate through my stock remote.

If you don't have the feature on your remote, you would just need to relocate the switch somewhere underneath the bumper maybe....I'm working on trying to make ford's hand free sensor work with mine that way I can just slide my foot underneath and the gate opens :p

That's a sick ride escahoe07, yeah ill most likely relocate the switch somewhere but I'm also wondering if I can change to switch to a round one like the one to open the rear window so I can get ride of the rectangular one the handle has. Can that be done? Thanks for the replies guys.

Thanks guys, but as far as switching buttons, I don't remember how many wires the round one for the window had but as long as you have the same number I don't see it being difficult at all

I have my rear wiper and handle shaved.
The wiper motor, arms, and other accessories were removed along with the handle.
I then rewired the gate operation to work with the pop glass button. I also wired the pop glass button to still work with the remote because after removing the wiper motor (which is the brains to the whole hatch), I could not open the pop glass at all anymore. Most of the members on the forum with the NNBS and shaved wipers cannot pop their rear glass anymore because of that issue.
I was going to do a write up on how to do the whole process a few months ago, but decided not to waste my time because a lot of the members on here are only interested in adding stock accessory parts to their cars and not full out customizations. That being said, it takes way too long to type that stuff out and take pics to make a thread that goes unnoticed.

Thanks guys.
And yes, there needs to be wiring done to get the hatch to pop with the remote after removing the wiper motor.
