Have engine running, remove oil fill cap. Which way is the air moving?
Is it sucking air in or blowing air out..

Place sheet of paper over fill hole to easily determine the direction.

Honest question, not sarcasm: what is that supposed to determine? Which is correct?

If you have alot of blow by.
Which could be part of the oil consumption problem.

If its sucking air in, no blow by at idle which is a good sign.
If its blowing air out. any amounts you have Alot of blow by.
It will exaggerate under a load while driving.

can't recall but if you were referring the the dash temp gauge being off, that is fed from the one wire sensor on the left cylinder head. the thermo sensor feeds the pcm for engine operation. if not referring to that dash one then never mind and i apologize for any confusion i caused.
