Shifting Problem

I was sitting in parking lot waiting for somone when they showed i put my foot on brake and shifted to reverse but when i did the little line on display that should be under R blinked and truck wouldnt reverse and so i put it back into park and tryed agian it worked fine.... was this a hiccup or somthing eles? its happend once or twice before.

Could be the shift indicator malfunction, sensor on the trans...

Mine does that every once in a while, but only in reverse. Usually I can move the shift lever a little and it will go in to gear.

Check the shift linkage for worn/damaged parts, loose nuts/bolts.
