Two of these "HELP" posts inside of ten minutes, hope you guys don't get tired of helping me out :D

So here's the deal on this one, my brake light fuse blows every time I depress the brake pedal.

A) I am in the process of installing a trailer braking kit (for almost a year), not sure if that has anything to do with it. I haven't finished installing the trailer brake kit because I've never done a 7pin brake kit before and I don't know what I'm doing/ haven't had time to finish researching it and actually DO IT once I think I've found the answer.

B) Also I did have a roof leak in the back of the truck which could have been part of the problem. The roof leak is FINALLY fixed, had a rear spoiler on it that was leaking as well as the luggage rack.

C) The truck also has a remote start alarm that is connected to the brake pedal somewhere to kill the remote start when the brakes are applied if the key is not in the ignition. This does not always work properly. It looks like the brake light switch is WAY up under the dash on top of the steering column where you can't even lay eyes on it, right?

I'm fairly handy when it comes to this kind of stuff just have never done this particular job. My question is, where and how to start looking for this short? ANY help is greatly appreciated, thanks folks!

Ooooh, thanks Sumo, I'll have to pull those tail lights apart and have a look.
Wonder if there's any way to test them without taking them apart?

I've had the board go twice over the years, easy fix. You can most likely see some corrosion in there

Do you just clean them up, solder them or replace the boards? Never done this before

it's easy taking them out, once you've removed the two screws that hold the taillight in place the light pops off and you can unplug it.

replace the board, feel free to try and fixed it and save a few bucks....worst case you buy a new board.
