Should engine mounts be replaced in pairs? 2010 Yukon Denali

I'm shocked no one has mentioned it yet...

Buy the engine mount for the Hummer H3 that had the 5.3l in it. They are solid rubber VS the hydraulic (oil filled) mount that came in these trucks.

The original mounts are essentially an oil filled bladder and are prone to tearing.

The H3 mount is what most police fleets use as replacements because they are much more durable.

I have a stock hydraulic mount on the passenger side and the H3 mount on the driver's side.

The 2wd trucks are pretty easy to swap the mounts on... the 4wd and AWD, like yours, are a bit more of a pain due to the front differential and CV axles, prop shaft.

If it were me I would want to do it once and be done with it, especially with the AWD.

I almost did the H3 mounts but I didn't want to chance any extra NVH so I just went back with the GM OEM mounts.

I thought about the H3 mounts too, but the thought of engine vibrations is a big turn off to me. I have yet to replace any of my mounts in my 09 and I'm at 150k, however I noticed my driver's side mount there a a slight trail of rusty color dry fluid on it. I'm sure it needs replaced, been trying to hold off replacing it until it's time for my cam and header swap.

The difference in vibration is almost imperceptible.

It's not a solid steel mount like the AFP mounts... although they do have Poly in theirs.

Im going with the ones from Atomic. They won't break. Don't feel like doing this repair every few years or so.

Neither will the H3’s. It’s just the fluid filled ones that fail.

I have a '14 PPV that comes with the H3 mounts. The vibrations are negligible and my truck's interior is spartan as heck with basic cloth seating poor sound dampening/insulation.

On a regular Tahoe I doubt you'd feel anything with the H3 mounts.
