Should I buy this Tahoe?

My city auction has a 2008 Tahoe 2x4 PPV with 101k miles for sale. It's black on black and is in pretty good condition. It has been very well maintained and is extremely clean, even the engine compartment is spotless. The village where it was used is a really rich area so they kept this thing nice. I'm just wondering how much I should pay for this, bidding starts at $5,000.

If cash I'd go up to about 12k and if I didn't want it then flip for profit

Don't really plan on trying to sell it to make money, more along the lines of a newer DD than the 99 Denali I have now.

That's alot of miles and if it was a small area I'm sure those weren't highway miles. I know most city vehicles are not taken well care of in terms of cosmetics. Routine maintenance was probably done...so that's good. I'd say 10-12k would be fair.

Ok but still I know for a fact that people don't know how to buy cars so unless its like a auction that's literally there instead of like eBay then expect to pay a good penny. If its in person then intimidate by bidding super quick like when they bid u bid back fast and they get lost;)

It's an online auction and it's got 24 days left. In just hoping it doesn't get too high.

dont forget, PPV spend a lot of time Idling.

I know about all the idling it did, the guy that showed it to me also serviced the truck most of its life and said its solid and it's been very well taken care of. He told me that the officers that used it treated it like there own. This thing is super nice for being used as a police vehicle, there's not but one scratch on the entire truck.

Seems to me that you like to only hear the positive. Since when does anyone using a work truck (which this is for a Police Officer) treat it like it is their own? Have you ever treated a rental car like it is your own?

I am sorry, but I looked once at a prior police vehicle and I will NEVER even look at one again.

I agree with the above, lots of idleing going on and these are lots of NON Freeway miles.

Good luck.
