2010 Tahoe LTZ, 5.3, 171k miles. I will be replacing my valve cover gaskets due to leaks. Should I should proactively change the oil pressure sensor even though I have no current issues with the original sensor? It doesn't appear to be leaking. Only reason I'd change it now is if it's easier to change the sensor with the valve cover off? Appears awfully tight back there. Thanks

Do you feel lucky? I generally think that if it ain't broke, don't fix it, unless it is a routine preventive maintenance item. My thought/recommendation would be to leave it alone.

At that mileage, maybe if you're pulling the intake to replace the intake gasket. But pulling the valve covers won't make much of a difference in accessibility.

I'm with Joe, don't touch it until it fails. My gaskets were replaced 3 years before the oil pressure sensor needed replacing.

What you could do is install a oil pressure relocation kit while you're back there and it's easy to install. And then reuse the sensor

Because the sensor will go bad and all the replacement sensors have a high failure rate too
