1.8 hours is book for the water pump. And the pump is a 150 dollar part.....so over a grand to bolt on a part?!?!

Sad….This is why I am trying to teach my kids to know how to work on cars.
I’m assuming they gave you some sort of an estimate before doing the work.

Correct. And I took it to them to investigate coolant and ps leaks and so they found that. I had expected to pay 120 for the diagnosis, but the service advisor waived it I think because I had brought it in last week and then had to pick it up with nothing done because they were closing due to the storm. Which I appreciated. They did their part and didn't have to so that.
