Has anyone had or have this problem?

My 24 Yukon had it's SiriusXM trial end. Since then I get these promotional messages that override my ability to change to a different source. I have to wait for the commercial to end before I can switch to another source. It occurs every other day or so. This may be trivial but it is down right annoying. They are basically taking control of the audio in MY car.

I went to their website and logged into my account and found that there is no In Vehicle Messaging (IVM) that would have allowed me to turn off the messaging. So I called them and they said they cannot change this remotely and that I have to have the dealer reprogram my infotainment system. In my opinion, it is rediculous to have to waste my time and a dealer techician's time to turn this off.

Fair enough, but much the way you'd have to set up an appointment and be available for the cable co to come and remove their equipment from your house when you cancel cable, you'll need to (IIRC) have the dealership program this out of your truck. If it's any consolation, I think it's done really quickly, and somewhat remotely (I don't think they even need to take your truck in or get in your truck to do it). That's my recollection anyway.

Sounds like GM got kickbacks from SXM advertising. Not surprised.

My experience in both my aftermarket SXM receiver and my factory '04 SXM is that new cell towers interfere so much with reception that I'm considering abandoning SXM altogether.
