the overdrive is not dependent on the slack or lack there of in the cables.

i also want to say here and now that if you twist or kink those cables in anyway you are inviting a uncontrollable vehicle on your hands.

That steel cable is nothing more then a bicycle brake/gear cable, those stretch over time, so do these.

If you take up the slack on the cable you will think it responds "quicker" ie less pedal press before the engine goes.

I have to put my foot down farther for throttle so at crusing speed just lightly pushing on the gas doesnt really cut it.

hey when you do adjust it can you take a pic of the " thingamajigy". I just did the MPFI conversion on my 98 the other day and was asking myself the same question on the slack.

By the way on a side not, the MPFI Conversion WOW what a difference

yours must have been in bad shape then. what does your odometer read now?

My MPFI ? Yea you can say that my old stock injectors were apparently causing me to run on only 6 cylinders. I had a crate motor put in when i blew the engine at 95k miles and apparently my cats went bad back then. My truck is getting exhaust done now eliminating cats.totally. I have O2 simulators for a few years and passes inspection each time. According to my.exhaust guy i blew apart both my cats they were completely gutted all of fragments were stuck in the stock muffler
