Slow Window

I just replaced my window motor regulator, I got the whole thing already assembled from the autopart store plugged in and gave it a whirl, and DUD. still slow, what is the problem, I clean the rubber rails it slides but still just as slow as the annoying stock motor.

try cleaning and lube the run channels with some silicone spray?

Try tapping the motor with a hammer or something while it is moving, or better yet take the motor back off and let the motor run some without the drag of the regulator! It has worked for me, otherwise it's time for a new motor!

Silicone spray?

I have tried cleaning and lubricating but here in the desert it only seems to tract dust and slowing it more

But it is a new motor, its worth a shot though, I will give it one after the football games.

Let me know what happens. I got the same problem with my front passenger window. It's a 2000 Tahoe late model.

Sorry man, I guess I didn't read it right, thought you just replaced the motor but now I see that you got the whole thing together!!

OK, took everything off, motor and regulator, glass, all weather stripping.
I cleaned the rubber weather stripping/channels with degreaser to get all the crap out, scraped with my finger through the channel and rinsed and dried it. There was alot of buildup junk in the channel preventing the window from moving, so with a few paper towels I got everything out. Then I sprayed a good amount of WD-40 in the the part of the weather stripping that the window glides on, on the rails where the 2 special holders for the glass ride up and down, I also sprayed it as I rolled up and down where the actual cables are. Whole process took less than an hour.

Now the window is as fast as the rears, wow!!

Im gonna be doing the passenger side tomorrow, and take plenty of pictures of what spots I hit with WD-40 so check back.

Do anyone know where to get a power window motor for cheap, aside from junk yards?

I would look at Ebay, I got a rear passenger reg/motor combo, new in box for less than 30 bucks brand new in box. They come up once in a while. Keep the kids from hanging on while rolling up, they are ran by cables and they get tangled up and it's a mess after that.
