Yes, "good friend" no more, twenty years gone. Sad because he could of talked to me about this and we could of came to a reasonable solution.

Neither, keep your truck stock, be a pansy and give me both of them to me :)

leave tahoe stock, buy a V6 fox body mustang to drop the 6.0 into.
Sell or trade the 4l80 for a turbo 400.
Make a rippin play thing..
With proper shopping you can have a driving TURBO 6.0 mustang for under 5k.
I know cause I planned a build like this myself :)

No more mustangs for me. If i keep it to put it into a car it would be a 69 Camaro

How much of a hassle would that be to swap it in?

Bolt it in with some aftermarket mounts and wire it up. That simple :)

I don't know if you'd want this to happen I'd rather have a good truck but have to make lemonade out of lemons.

Sucks that happened. Personally i would find the mpst sleeper looking pos and drop it in and put quiet exuast and **** unsuspecting kids. Be like bet this pos will beat ur 5.0;)

Its got rot? The fender is pretty rusty in the front. If its rotted then i woulda dropped the motor n trans even if the shell wasnt wrecked....

6.0 all day sell the 5.3 for a nice twin screw s/c or somthing

5.3 and 6.0 are generally the same motor just a bigger bore.

Why are you going to go thru all the hassel and swap in a "smaller motor" THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT

plus check out my build thread IT HAS ALL THE PART NUMBERS AND INFO YOU NEED to build a 6.0 STOUT SET-UP.

I don't know how deep your pockets are...how many miles on the existing drivetrain. You can make decent power with Cam, Heads, Tune.

If I were you...replace all gaskets and sensors (I suggest ALL of them or) that are a ***** to get too (knock sensors) atleast throw in a small cam. We can talk more in depth about this once you decide what to finally do. If you follow my build thread part for part is a BOOST friendly set-up. N/a I am b/w 400-500 range if I get injectors. These motors need very little to turn out good HP. I just got a little lost some where LOL
