You're lucky. I paid $150 for 2 keys. No programming. Just cut keys with the Plastic GMC logo end. I was told they were "programmed" hence the cost. I should have just walked away but I didn't know any better and not having a spare key was my fault.
The dealership does look up bow to cut your key from the Vin. That's is about all the programming. I had bought my keybfobs and blank key almost 8 months ago i just sat around the whole time saying I won't loose the only set now. Even though the wife was right about getting them fixed she wasn't happy. Ha. Sorry bout paying $150 that does seem high just for the code. Key fobs are like 20 off amazon or ebay.

I see. I am keeping a spare, just in case. PLUS, I have the 2-way Viper alarm that looks like a mini blue cell phone. $189.00 for a replacement fob.
