So I used to have a duel Flowmaster catback on my truck and that thing was WAY TO LOUD so i took it off. It sounded really nice when idling but as soon as 3000 rpm came around or I was towing the boat I practically had to wear ear plugs to think! So I have been rolling stock with the Volant Super tips and they look great but now thinking about adding a muffler (thinking magnaflow) but want one that adds just a little rumble! something that gives the truck some tone but wont kill me! Any suggestions/sound clips!?!!??!

Sorry no sound clips but I've always liked the sound of Gibson. Id say its the best sound out there for the money.

Which flowmaster muffler did you have? I am thinking of getting the Flowmaster 17368 Cat-back System, but I don't want it to be extremely loud. I want it louder than stock but not busting my ear drums.

Magnaflow is the way to go from my experience. Sounds great, very good quality and they are non baffled unlike the Flowmaster. Flowmaster sounds ok, but gives you no performance gains.

I looked around myself for a while, finally I decided to put in 2 flowmaster 40 deltas with cat-delete and a custom xpipe. I had heard several magnaflows in person and they just didn't have what I wanted. I personally liked the sound of the flowmaster 40 deltas I heard on Jeff's truck, they are alot like the old school 40s but don't have such a loud rasp to them when you aren't getting on the throttle. I drove his for a few highway miles and they're not bad at all for loud obnoxious sound. He has dynamat throughout the entire truck keep in mind though. I turned mine down just behind the rear passengers with a very slight angle on the endlets to avoid hot exhaust hitting the axle.

Thats the kit I had on mine but what i did is switched out the 50 series it came with to the super 40 series....Long story short my friend had this kit brand new laying around without the muffler so I baught it off him and baught a muffler for it....All i can say about the kit is STAY AWAY! tips never lined up one was always higher then the other and it was REALLY noticable people would always point it out and it drove me nuts...the tips that come with the kit are way to small they are 3" out let looks really gooofy on such a big truck like ours....for the money your paying between the kit and buying new nice 3.5" tips you might as well go to a muffler shop and have them hook u up with a duel side exit custom exhaust itll run u the same and prob look/sound a lot better! thats just my .02 cents

You guys should take whatever setup you get to a local custom muffler shop for installation. Tell them what you want, how you want it etc and pay them the labor to install. I'm not talking about a Midas muffler, call some performance shops locally and ask them who they use for custom mandrel bent installs.

Here try this site out they have better prices on mufflers. Its like flowmaster just without the name. My cousin just bought one and got it installed for cheaper than the same flowmaster muffler was.

i personally like Magnaflow. i got it on my truck and its only loud when you accelerate, quiet at cruising/idle. Mine is a 20" muffler which is one of the quieter ones. the lower you go, the louder it'll be...

SW CT,
If you want it drone free and alittle deeper at cruise and noticeable when WOT then I'd be looking at a Magnaflow keep the case length around 20" and you'll be fine.
