I went out to my yukon on the passenger side and randomly noticed the lock barrel had been jacked up by what looks to be a screwdriver... What the hell! I need a new lock cylinder. Is this a DIY job? Is there a way to have it keyed to my current ignition key or will it be seperate? And will it still deactivate my alarm? Also and most importantly what is the actual part called and where can I find one? I tried searching and could never figure out what it was called.. Door lock assembly? Door lock cylinder?

I'd call it a lock cylinder. As for keying it alike you should talk to a locksmith, or your local dealer. As for being a diy job, if you can remove the door handle yourself, it shouldnt be too hard to remove the cylinder assembly. I'm assuming the alarm disarm ect is controlled inside the door separately, so you should be fine with replacing just the cylinder.

Had the SAME thing happen to me.

YES - its a DIY job. I got a new door handle and lock cyl off ebay.

Bring the lock and your VIN to a dealer - they will key it for you for about $10.00

Pop the door panel off the inside, few bolts and your all set.

Bastards did exact thing to me!!

Unless yours are painted... then you can get them from LMC truck - and have it painted..

Not finding any lock cyls on there at the moment....

Oh and yes, it will work fine with the alarm - no worries.

Sucks Man I have had mine broken into 3 times. You would think they would learn I keep nothing in my truck of value.

Well no. I guess I was assuming it was cracked up like mine - if the handle looks fine, and the lock tumbler mounts in there still - should be no issues.

The door works perfectly. The only problem is I can't put a key in it. Think I got lucky as it was only the metal cylinder broken. It made me feel so uneasy knowin someone tried to do me like this.
