All done. While I was up babysitting a brisket on the smoker last night, I baked the lenses back on and got everything buttoned up. Well worth it, and things were almost dead-on from the start. I got them leveled in the garage, then took the Tahoe with the headlights installed (minus lenses) to the back of a large store to check aim at several distances.

Got rid of the automatic headlights, hopefully to prolong the life of the HID's. Takes 4-5 minutes and its free.

The GIF is looped, it makes it look like the switch goes back to auto but it doesn't.

That's all it takes- to remove the spring so the switch stays in the "OFF" position? Are they 100% off or do they still come on when you unlock it with the fob or turn the engine off and or take the key out, etc.?

Yup, switch stays in the off position, so they don't come on at all with the key itself. My headlights on my PPV never came on with the fob, so can't vouch for that.

That's right- you have that special BCM programming. Thanks for sharing the info! I'm surprised I haven't seen it before.

How did you get the automatic headlights to work, get the computer refreshed at the dealer, or did yours always work beforehand ?
