Ohh yeah, the "Adapts" must be done on the 4-speeds too, at least those in the GMT900s.

That shift flare is curious
That should have been caught on a post-work test drive before the vehicle was ever delivered to you
I very much have my doubts that a TCM reset would solve anything. Wear compensation will increase line pressure and would give you hard shifts, not shift flare.
Stop driving it, take it back. Stand on their throat if you need to. Something is wrong, and continuing to operate it will **** up the clutches. Those things don't have much thermal mass and even a little bit of shift flare will wildly increase their temperatures

If any type of procedure is needed after installation you will be informed of it.

Under that heading, Transmission Adaptive Pressure, you are basically clearing the stored settings and the trans then begins to relearn from scratch.

I had a family member drop the truck back off to the shop this morning. It shifted funny the whole way home from work last night
I talked to the owner briefly before having it dropped off and I asked about the rear planetary having the 4 or 5 pinion and he said it had the 4. He said the 5 comes with trucks that have tow package and that even if my old trans had the 5 pinion it would still have cracked. I think he said that they both still have the same ring or whatever the piece is that goes in through the middle. Sorry I don’t comprehend all the transmission terminology. I just know when something doesn’t feel right with trans’s

Spoke to the owner of the shop this morning and he said he took it out for a test drive and agreed it definitely should not be driving like that. Said he’d get it up on the hoist, run a pressure test and give me a call
He just called now and said his mechanic thinks there could be a hairline crack in the drum or one of the seals may have got nicked when putting back together. He said their as small as rubber bands so he said they are going to have to pull the trans back out
I asked about the 5 pinion planetary again and he said they usually come from the factory with trucks with tow package and that their a little more beefed up. I told him i talked to a few people that had their trans rebuilt and that they used the upgraded 5 pinion and that I’d rather have a beefed up one. He said he’d price it out and said it will be a little higher in price. He said he wasn’t sure how much but he’d call on it tomorrow. Again he said though that’s not the reason that this planetary cracked, that if I had the 5 in on the last time it still would have cracked
I don’t tow or off-road, u guys think I should go for the 5 pinion? Even if it’s just a bit tougher id do it. Might as well
