Sorry for the confusion. Right tool but wrong end as I was running out the door. My apologies. Thx guys for sorting him out. Hope you get the correct parts.

Hmm i just took my spare down working on my rear end. I used 2 sections (1 section just barely comes out of the hole, the second allows clearance).

For the record....my sections are 20" each. Check to see how long yours are.

Edit for pics.

Heres the 3 sections i have.

Heres 1 section in the hole and engaging the hoist.

Heres 2 sections and the 3rd used as reference for clearance from bumper

Ok, problem solved! Turns out the "tool set" they sent me was the wrong one. I had thought maybe I was short one "segment" (the picture on Amazon showed the lug wrench, the hook piece and 3 x segments, but my kit only had two.)

As it turns out, there are only 2 segments, but all the segments should be longer. Here's a side-by-side comparison. You can see how much bigger overall the correct kit is.

Tried out handle last night, seems to lower the spare tire just fine. I'm happy now I don't have to be worried about getting a flat and being unable to change it!

BTW I have no idea what kind of vehicle that other tool set goes to.

Well sorted. Something so simple and the wrong tool jams up the system.

Interesting. Mine has 3 of the shorter segments; 2 of them are used for lowering the spare and the 3rd is different and is used for the jack( along with one or two of the others). It might be different for the longer wheelbase vehicles; my set was stored in the rear left panel by the jack. I see in the owner's manual the Denali XL models are stored in a different place where there might be more room for longer pieces.

I concur with Red Rocket.

My set has the long pouch with 3 extensions and a lug wrench that are in the left rear compartment under the window. I lowered my tire this week and I used 2 extensions.

The 3rd is for the jack.
