While my knowledge is limited to the LQ9 from owning to Silverado SS trucks and now a 2006 Escalade: ive always been a fan of the NGK Iridium TR55IX (if your engine is N/A) or TR6 (if you're engine is F/I) and have had great results. Pair them with Taylor or MSD plug wires too!

I already went with the platinum. Maybe I'll try the iridium next time.

This wasnt the popular answer as most suggested iridium, but you have some persuading proof, I'll go this route, than you for this post.

They come gapped already now too. .040". Some of the early GMT800 manuals called for a wider gap but it was later tightened to .040" and all ya have to do now is gently check the gap with a feeler gauge and discard those that are out of spec.
