Fans start at 60% speed with controller

I just realized that I am feeling more air movement on my flex-a-lite fans, than some of you guys, because they come on at 100%. I was reading the instruction page again from Flex-a-lite. Bottom of page 2 “The variable speed control has new features”.

If you use the Flex-a-lite control. It always starts the fans at 60% and will not go to 100% unless the temp rises another 10 degrees over starting temp.

I am not using their controller. My fans are wired right to a couple of relays and they get the full 12 volts when they go on. :)

Thats probably why you said there pretty loud too. Mine you cant hear running with the truck running, if the trucks off and they stay on for a minute then yea you can hear em. Crazy. Del, when you hook stuff up to 12v, where do you go in the engine bay to get your source? It says directly to the battery, but when a ton of stuff goes straight to the battery terminals, it gets pretty messy..

unknown at this time.
Just use one of the aux power taps with the **** fuse on the under hood block. For the flexalite setup it is a great power supply solution or branch of the battery to some barrier strips for power taps.

Mine are so damn loud, when engine up to temp and AC is on, that ppl operating drive through radios ask me to turn them off while placing a order.
