Re: Spied: 2104 Escalade

Those front doors seem oh so similar. The rear doors for the Suburban vs a crew cab too. What about those A & B pillars? Or, how about that both share production facilities, just like the Volt and Cruze? It sounds like we have a stand off. I can't (currently) prove my claim, but I swear I read it somewhere.

I can't wait to see the 2014s.

Denial is a very powerful force. Your 2013 Tahoe is going to be the old generation real soon. You got lied to at the dealership so that you would but the current gen. Dealerships are known for hiding any information on new models so they are not stuck with inventory.

The dealer did not lie to me, i didnt even ask the dealer if a new body was comming out, i sold my escalade now to be safe that way if a new body does come out i dont lose value. Im very happy with my 13 tahoe and i will wait till the second year of the new body before i trade it again. I never buy a first year release, too many issues.

In the year after a new model comes out and is general public knowledge, the value of the previous generations typically decreases by 15%-20% of what it was worth before the new gen.
Cost to own and deprciation charts do not show this, but in the real world, most potential buyers are only willing to pay a lot less since the model is essentially old.

Exact reason why we dumped the suburban when we did.

Thats why i dumped the Escalade and did a lease on a tahoe, like i said before i will never buy a 1st year model and the lease was perfect

Go get a trade in value today on your truck, go back in 6 month when the NEW GENERATION TAHOE is out and the trade in value will go from 30K to 22-24K if you are lucky to be that high.

If i had traded my truck in 12-31-12 i would of got an extra $4K on it because they could of re-certified it and sold it, but because i waited till 1-10-13 it was outside the 4 year mark and they wont certify them anymore

That's because Escalade owners are silly little people with small winkles and too many insecurities to mention, so they blame their SUV for everything.

It's true.
