Just received this projector kit for Christmas with an 8K HID kit already installed in them.

Has anyone else installed this kit and wired the LED's to the DRL wires instead of hooking up the LED's and Halo's to the parking lights as the instructions point to?

Looking for any experience or suggestions on getting these installed on my 07 Tahoe.

Yes, those lights are crap even with hids in them. In order to get good light output from them is to do a retrofit some good quality projectors. Many of us tried them, including myself. Its like trying to drive with just fog lights on only

I haven't installed them, which sounds like a good thing.

Do you have anymore info on the retrofit? What is a better headlight assembly kit?

So are you saying that the spyder projectors handle the 55w ballast and lights better that the Depo's do with doing without any retrofit?

Or are you saying that the Spyder are better to retrofit than the Depo's?

Thank you very much

Those headlights will give precisely this output:

And illuminate the road this much:

attachment.php

That's WITH 35W hid bulbs, 55W will just be the same output slightly brighter, and will all but certainly melt those cheap projector bowls which are intended for halogen bulbs.

There is NO aftermarket housing for NNBS trucks with projectors made for HIDs. They are all for halogen bulbs and no matter what you put in them or how much power you provide to it, it will be terrible output and catastrophic dispersion.

The only PnP solution I know of for our trucks with actual HID projectors is a pre-retrofitted oem clone housing made by BFC: http://blackflamecustoms.com/produc...-avalanche-projector-retrofit-headlights-p-94
