i am having trouble.
Here's the rundown; my Tahoe was running great as it always has. On a Saturday afternoon I noticed it was sluggish to crank. Sunday morning the battery was too weak to start the engine. I simply put a new battery on it. The keys were in the house. I went into the house, grabbed the keys and tried to start it with the remote. It just cranked over several times. I then go out and put the key in the ignition. I crank on it several times. All the while it's spitting and sputtering trying to start. It finally does start puffing out a cloud of blue/grey smoke. It had the smell of an ole carbureted engine that had been flooded. I back out of the carport and it read "stabilitak off/service traction control". I didn't think much of it so I disconnected the negative cable for a minute or so, hooked it back and my wife hit the road. Ten minutes later she calls and says it reads "no oil pressure stop engine now". I told her "By all means, stop the engine!" I changed the oil switch/pressure sensor and boom. It's fixed. However this stabilitrak TC keeps popping up and when shifting from reverse to drive slams pretty hard. 1st to 2nd shift hard as well. The rest of the shifting is fine. I checked the battery cables again. Added a ground strap from the body to the engine and it seemed to help for 20 miles. Now the stabilicrap/traction control comes on very often. No rhyme or reason to it. Nothing consistent. Also the remote won't crank it anymore.
I've learned that this is a very common problem. Any insight would be appreciated.

Did you figure out what the problem was yet? I had a similar problem but just with the traction control. Everything else was working fine. Something you would never think of was causing the problem. It was the steering wheel position sensor. It's a long shot but you never know... good luck
