ok, i have searched & read a couple threads where people have replaced their battery & everything was good. to give you some background.....idle for the truck seems very low. so low, it has stalled on me while sitting at a light a couple times. the truck starts back up no problems. but tonight, it stalled on my when i was trying to back up to get out of a friend's driveway. the RPM's go below 500 & i can see the battery voltage gauge start to drop. then it stalls. the threads i have read were saying to replace the battery & everything was good. but not the case for me. when i come to a light, most of the time, the voltage drops to right about 12 maybe a little lower. if i step on the gas to make sure the RPM is around 500-1000, the voltage comes up where it should & everything is fine. i would think the alternator is ok since when i press on the gas pedal to bring up the RPM's, everything is fine. but the new battery didn't fix it for me.

anyone know anything else i can check before i bring it to a shop?

ok. i'll have to try that. but i would think that the alternator is ok since as long as the RPM's are around 500 everything is fine.

I think your alternator is on the same page as your engine...Its just following suit.

Did you clean out your throttle body?

When my throttle body is dirty, it does exactly what was described!! It's easy and relatively cheap to clean out, mine always runs awesome after a fresh cleaning, even if it's not stalling out from being too dirty!
