So I've got an 04 and right at 240k miles.
She currently starts and then dies right away. If I start it and keep my foot on the gas she will stay running but then dies immediately after taking my foot off the gas. No lights on the dash either.
She ran find this morning, not problem.
Now here's where I'm wondering if I did something. So I decided to add the amp and sub I've had sitting my in my shed for years. I unplugged the battery, ran the wires. I did run the power through the firewall grommet that was already there. The one under the dash behind the white little box thing with the clips and connections, you know the old you got unclip and fold down. The grommet previously had 1 wire going through it and I just worked the 4GA through. The grommet did completely work it's way out of the whole and I was able to get it back in. The amp and sub is not currently hooked up(I don't have a fuse for the amp).
After all that I reconnected the battery. Now while reconnecting the battery there were a couple small sparks, the type like you would see if your trying to jump the car off when you put on the jumper cable on. When I first started it, it fired right up and ran for about a minute and then died. I thought it was the battery so I tried to jump it, and it started and then died, so I tried to jump it again and left it connected for about 20 minutes and she fired up, but dies as soon as I take my foot off the gas. However this time I can restart it no problem, but again dies as soon as taking my foot off the gas.
Is it possible that the grommet has something to do with it, maybe vacuum type sensor or something. Maybe I didn't get it put back into place perfectly. This is just a guess.
Disclaimer I am NO MECHANIC, but I have learned a lot from you guys here and appreciate your input. Thanks.
