Hi Everybody,
Picked up an '03 Yukon a week ago, just getting around to sorting out the slop in the steering. Already got the redesigned intermediate shaft ready to go in.
I am thinking about replacing the steering gear as well, because I can move the steering wheel about an inch from center either way with no movement in the wheels. I can also see about 1/4-1/2 rotation of the intermediate shaft before the pitman arm moves. I am assuming this is not normal..correct?
If this is not normal I have a question about the replacement options..
They list 2 parts for the Yukon/Tahoe, one for the normal options and one for the BPH or Y91 option codes (Luxury package/Off road appearance packages respectively). Does anyone know what the differences actually are? is the Y91 version stronger? Different ratios? Are they interchangeable?
Thanks.
