Steering problem.. who can help?

Im new to the forum. I got my 97 tahoe back in January this year. My steering was working somewhat good. I could hear a loud sound when steering all the time. Kinda got used to it. It was until i heard a clicking sound when turning left. Like a door without any lube. So i took it to the shop.

I was told definetely i had to replace steering power pump. (Which was obvious because the major leak i could see). And also the upper arm bushing that said it was causing the other clicking noise.

After i brought it back from shop, i noticed my steering was still had (to the point i had to steer with both hands and still struggle). And did notice it leaked steering fluid. The noise from the upper right arm still is there while steering left.

My question here is, why is it still hard to steer if i replaced the steering pump? The upper arms bushings were replaced too. Why am i hearing the clicking noise? I was told probably the steering gearbox.. could that be the problem?

Could be axles causing noise. Pump maybe improper fluid level, or you should try power steering flush. You could have sludge restricting flow in your lines. My 89 sierra had simialr problem and got a lot better after flushing,

The issue is one i shift into gear and im not moving. While i drive, it steets just fine and smooth. But when im not moving and have it in drive it gets really hard to steer. But thanks, ill consider that and will flush it today...

Just because the steering pump is new doesn't mean it's flowing through the spoon valve in the steering box properly.Honestly it could be many things, the shop that did your work never checked after replacing those parts before giving the truck back?

Sorry for the delay. Just to give an update it turned out to be the gear box. After i switched it, it works just fine and pretty smooth. Just the gear box and nothing else..
