Honestly it's probably a good thing you went all out if you already noticed anything loose in the steering it would have continuously got worse and you would have had other issues.

my old one did that back in the 90's and i had bumped the push button 4wheel drive. make sure you are not in 4wd

That's true. The front end does feel solid now. Ordering the axles soon, then I finally get peace of mind.

I actually forgot it in 4wd once after it had snowed, but didn't stay like this long. It's also harder for it go in 4wd, since it's a big knob that has to be turned.

Peace of mind is a light way to put it. You DONT want one of those shafts breaking while its under motion.

I had same issue if going in reverse out of my driveway and steeting all the way to the left. It turns out to be upper ball joint. If you get new upper control arm from Autozone it will last only 2 years lol

I had thought the same with the ball joints, but I replaced everything and still had the pop. I installed Moog arms, so I'm good lol.
