Steering wheel lock

Does an 05 Yukon Denali steering wheel lock when you take the key out?

My 04 Tahoe does not which surprised me. I'm guessing yours does not either. Good question though.

Here's the issue. Someone broke into my car and I'm not sure if the turned the steering wheel to unlock it. I'm having issues turning right, it's like the power steering is out. Turning left is just fine.

No, they don't have locking collums

any thoughts on this issue? Gearbox, power steering pump?

I'm not totally familiar with how the collums work because I haven't had mine apart so I can only speculate. I know that there is a sensor for steering position maybe they moved it and it's out of position
