I'm in the process of starting my system in my 03 tahoe.
im trying to find out the largest speakers some of you have put in the rear doors.
my plan was 8 8inch mids, 4 super tweeters and a pair of compression driver that i have.
however i was just offered to trade 8s for 10s.. if i did 10s id do 2 in each front door but i see no real possible way to get a 10 in the rear doors.

if its gonna take way too much work i'll just stick with the 8 8's, 3 in each front door and a single in the rear doors.

the rest of the build will consist of:

Dash: Nexus 7 tablet with Pioneer 80prs
DSP: Rockford 3sixty3
Speakers:8 PRV Audio 8MB450
Tweeters: 4 PRV Audio TW450Ti
Compressing Drivers: 2 PRV Audio DT175 Horn with short body horns(crossed at 2k-6k)
Amps: All Taramps, sub amp hd8000, mids amp ts1300x2, highs amp ts600x4
Subs: 2 FI Team15s

4 320 amp iraggi alternators
6 runs of 4/0 wire
ton of audio techniks deadener
6 Duracell Group31 batteries / 2 Duracell Group34 batteries under the hood
running less than this with 8k rms i had .4 voltage drop starting at 14.8 to 14.4 full tilt. this time around i may not have any voltage drop with all the alt power let alone backup from batteries :party36:

if i decide next year to change amps to ct sounds 4ks i'll get xs power 16v batteries and run external regulator for a 18 system ;) but that might be overkill.. this setup is already gonna be overkill and my wife is hating ever bit of it b/c how much its costing... but i work hard so i play hard

Personally I'd do the 8's. It would be hard to fit that in the rear door with the seat right there and the 8" would still look clean

please post pictures of your handy-work when you are done.

BTW, i like your decision to go with Nexus 7 over the Samsung Tab. The Nexus seems to have better WiFi and 4g LTE sensitivity.

Note: not sure of your internet connection plans, but I highly recommend setting up a data account with your carrier rather than tethering with your cell phone. I have been tethering, and while tethering works fine, I find it a big hassle to have to push all of the buttons to start up tethering on a daily basis. Its much easier to simply turn on your key, and viola, the tab is connected to the internet automatically.

I wouldn't even worry about a rear stage. Focus on building the front up

db, you have way more tweeter potential than mid or midbass. Less is more when it comes to drivers playing the same frequency range, I'd simply the tweeter end of your install.

You can auto tether with Tasker. Mine does on power up. Simple as I just start up the car and voila I am tethered and connected to the internet.
