Sticky brakes

I have a 03 Yukon Denali, my wife had complaining about the brake pedal since we bought it. I finally got her in a way i could understand last night, after i change the pads and rotors.

She says the pedal gets hard(sticking I think hasnt done it to me) when she just starts to push the pedal. She has to push harder to get it to go.

Before this conversation i had went to test drive it and test the brakes after I replaced them. When I pushed the brakes hard, they would stay on. I pushed the gas and it would barely move. I tap the pedal again and they would release. It didn't seem like just one caliper either, it really seemed like all the brakes stayed on.

Do you guys think that it could be the master? Like the plunger is getting stuck? It has almost 200k and i can only image it the original. What do yall think?

the abs light on? if it is get the abs scanned.

maybe a vacuum leak?, check the hose from brake unit to backside of the intake, it is a vacuum line maybe it is cracked or loose., unless you have a booster unit which would run from the power steering. just an idea to check.

Sticky caliper slides? What did they look like when you replaced the rotors, did the slides get cleaned and re-lubed?

I have no abs light. I do have a booster, so I'll check that line. The left front pads were stuck before, but i cleaned them up and greased real well. The move freely now.

I had seen one post about this same problem. Guy never posted what fixed it. But one guy suggested a collapsed brake hose. Does that sound right? Makes sense, but i dont have money to just guess.

ive heard of bad rubber hoses causing this.

id pull the abs fuse to makes sure its no the abs. bad ebcm can do the same thing to.

How's the check valve?
Is it a hard stick - hits a point where it stops and you need to push past it, or does it feel like it takes a moment to get assist?

Ive had collapsed hoses in two previous gmt's....caused the same symptom.
