A good set of heads. I was looking into getting some Vortec heads. Now I'm looking at some aluminum trick flows with 72cc chambers to lower my compression ratio.

Still, from what I hear, the 5.7 TBI heads are terrible. I would go with vortec heads (you need the GM Performance TBI to vortec intake manifold), a good air intake, some shorty headers and an exhaust system. Should make it drive a little better.

You don't "need" the TBI Vortec intake, you can get a carb'd intake and adapter. that TBI Vortec intake isn't all that special. Vortec heads on these earlier OBS engines need somethings to be done before you just drop them on. I had a post here on the cooling system differences, if you search and find it it's worth the read. TBI Heads are nice but they will be a stepping stone. You'll want more power, more then a set of Vortec heads will allow.

Yeah, missed the year. When I hear 5.7, I think TBI. Most 96+ guys usually put "vortec". Oh well, most of my post is not irrelevant, and I have no idea what you 96+ guys do. Oh well.
