stock navi problems, help?

i have a 08 chevy tahoe with what ever navi it comes with, anyways lately the problem that im having is randomly when im driving to where ever (not using the navi) and it would pop up saying please insert the correct map dvd and or the map dvd that was inserted was not a map dvd. so i ignore it and get to my location and shut my truck, then when i leave agin the navi acts fine and shows me the map and works just fine.

so im completely lost on whats going on, ive taken the map dvd out cleaned it and everything i can do, havnt gone to the dealer yet because i dont wanna pay an outrage price for something that i can possibly fix or do.

so any help or possible diagnostics would be highly appreciated

Sounds like maybe the disc is scratched?

thats what i thought but i cleaned it and theres no scratches on it. i dont get it.
